The studio is well equipped to run a variety of workshops that continually feed the passion for new learning. The Harakeke papermaking workshops offer another perspective of the print trade while offering opportunities for participants to develop their own sense of creative worth. His commitment to his students and his passion for printmaking earned him the Supreme Prime Minister’s award for Ako Aotearoa Tertiary Teaching in 2010. His other achievements include a Fullbright Scholarship to Crows Shadow Institute, Pendalton, USA and a three month Nuffield Scholarship for research in Papermaking in the United Kingdom.
